Kilometer Charge: index adjustment tariffs and addition of toll roads as of July 1st 2017

The regional governments of Belgium have made some adjustments in the Kilometer Charge for HGVs of +3,5 tons. It concerns an adaptation of the index in Flanders and Brussels and the addition of some roads in the Walloon region.

Viapass has announced the new tariffs for + 3,5 tons trucks that will apply as of July 1st 2017. It concerns an adjustment of the tariffs to the index of consumer prices, as stipulated in the decree/ordonnance on the Kilometer Charge. Flanders and Brussels will implement the indexation; Wallonia has decided not to do so in 2017. The new tariffs are to be found in the table below, which can be downloaded in the download section on www.viapass.be as of July 1.

As of that same date, 33 kilometers will be added to the tolled road network in Wallonia. It is specifically about

– N29, from Perwez A4 (Thorembais-Saint-Trond) to Jodoigne (Flandres),
– N243, from Wavre N25 to Perwez N29.

These roads were added to discourage cut-through traffic. They will also be added to the road network that is managed by Sofico.

Rates and new roads will apply from 1 July 2017. Service providers’ OBUs are automatically adjusted to the new data.

You can find the maps and tariffs that will apply on July 1st already hier.
